Our friend Erica came to visit last weekend and while we were wandering around we found the Empire State Building. Since it was a cold (although not freezing) winter day, there was no line to go up and visibility was 25 miles (which is great). So, we decided to give it a try and it was great. I couldn't believe how far you could see and how beautiful the skyline is. I understand why so many people go there to visit and why it is so popular in tv and movie scenes. There are several facts and figures about how long it took to build the building (1.5 yrs), the cost ($40 million) and the miles of telephone and cable wires that are in the offices - but at the end of the day, it is just really cool to be really high looking down on everything.
