The Pathenon
The view from the Pathenon - they call Athens the city of concrete and you can see why.
Here is the spot where the first Olympics was held. This stadium was rebuilt in the late 1800's. It was not used in the 2004 Olympics (except for the archery event, it only seats 50,000) but it is used for the finish of the Athens Marathon. The Temple of Zeus - and you can see the Akropolis in the background




These are cookie like treats from Germany from when I was there in December visiting Todd. Everyone in the Christmas market had one - so we tried it.... it was ok - we determined it tasted like a bagel with no topping. But they were cute!
